Great techniques, but most projects require two heddles
This is a beautiful, well thought out and inspiring book. Sara Lamb includes detailed instructions, with clear photos and drawings, for weaving and finishing techniques for her projects, which can all be done on a rigid heddle loom and include band weaving, card-weaving, soumak, twining, and knotted pile. The loom widths she used were no greater than 16 inches. There is also a lot of information about weaving yarn, including explanations of weight/ply designations (10/2 cotton, for example), and a chart with weight/sett relationships, as well as general weaving information. The only complaint I have is that almost all the projects use two heddles, which my current rh loom can't handle. However, I can still use most of the techniques even though the results won't be the same as those in the book. Review by Monica (Posted on 7/5/2016)
