A Word from the Author
My art is inspired by the Japanese concept of wabi-sabi. Wabi-sabi is a philosophy and aesthetic that honors the imperfect, the transitory, the humble and the hand-made. It honors the changes of nature, the seasons, objects and ourselves. It evokes a sense of acceptance of the transitory nature of life. Creating intuitive, wabisabi- inspired art with cold wax and oil paint is like taking a journey--a journey without a map.”--Serena Barton
