Description

This smock is sophisticated in its rustic styling: a pleated-look striped pattern is achieved with slip stitches and a folkloric color combination of poppy red and ecru. A knitter’s treat, the clever borders are picked up from the yoke and the piece is worked directionally.

Yarn: Loop-d-Loop by Teva Durham Birch (90% cotton, 10% silk; 98 yd [90m]/50g): #01 ecru, 7 (9, 10, 11) balls and #04 poppy, 1 ball.
Yarn weight: #4 – Medium
Gauge: 18 sts and 24 rows = 4″ (10 cm) in St st using #8 needles.
Needles: Size 6 & 8 (4 & 5mm). Adjust needle sizes if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
