Description
Worked in the round from the waist down, this skirt uses five colors in different ways to create a richly textured fabric. Slip-stitch chain motifs and eyelet stripes flow into a subtly ruffled edge for a casual, beach-ready summer bottom.
Finished Size: 29 (33 ½, 36 ½, 41 ¼, 45 ¾)” waist circumference and 35 (39 ½, 42 ¾, 47 ¼, 51 ¾)” hip circumference. Skirt shown measures 29″ waist.
Yarn: Tahki Cotton Classic (100% mercerized cotton; 108 yd [99 m]/50 g): #3204 taupe (MC), 7 (7, 8, 8, 9) skeins; #3784 deepest teal (CC1), #3248 milk chocolate (CC2), and #3774 pine green (CC3), 1 (2, 2, 3, 3) skein(s) each; #3336 bittersweet chocolate (CC4), 2 (2, 2, 3, 3) skeins.
Yarn weight: #3 – Light
Gauge: 21 sts and 34 rows = 4″ in chain stripe patt on larger needle; 20 sts and 27 rnds = 4″ in eyelet stripe on larger needle.
Needles: Size 5 (3.75 mm): 24″ circular (cir). Size 6 (4 mm): 24″ and 40″ cir. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Markers (m; one in a contrasting color to mark beg of rnd); tapestry needle; size F/5 (3.75 mm) crochet hook.
