This video is a good overall survey of the different support spindles that are used around the world. There are brief discussions about how each spindle is used. It is NOT a how-to support spindle course, however. I think the video should be renamed to more accurately reflect the information contained. The video is a good overall survey of the different styles of support spindles, but it will do nothing to teach you how to support spindle if you have no prior knowledge Review by No1ofConsequence (Posted on 2/10/2018)
Tons of new info

I've been spinning for quite a while but had not taken a lot of support spinning classes and found videos for some of the techniques hard (impossible) to find. Amelia's video answered questions I had about the Akha, French, and Russian techniques. It was also great to see someone spin closer to the way I do on a Tibetan. I would have loved to see a little more included about .........okay, not included. I wanted a q&a session! But for the price, I think this was a really informative video. I wish Amelia could have relaxed enuf to smile more, but I'm sure that will come as she gets more comfortable making these videos! Review by Linda (Posted on 6/19/2017)
ok for a beginner
I honestly expected more from this video. I guess for a beginner it had enough information to get started, but for an experienced spinner, there really is nothing new except how Russians and Portuguese ply their yarns (neither of which I'm likely to do personally). I would have liked to see more time spent on spinning different types of fibres and how to handle their individual properties, and more advanced spinning techniques.
