Love Esther, Not Thrilled With Interweave
Rating
I love watching Esther Rodgers and have no complaint there. But, Interweave, please watch and edit your videos! A door opens and closes a couple of times, and then people are talking in the background. Then the overhead cameraman falls asleep and misses the whole close up section at around 1:15. We pay money for these videos and expect better quality than this! Review by Brenda (Posted on 3/1/2018)
Great teacher, mediocre production
Rating
Esther's passion for her unique flavour of art yarn shines through. It's not really my own style of spinning, but that's why I bought it and I learned some interesting things, I felt that Esther was let down by the production quality of this video which was lacking many times, most notable from 1:14, where there are 3 techniques which show nothing of what she was doing with her hands. The viewer is left to guess from her verbal description of what she's doing on the other side of the wheel. How disappointing for the viewer and Esther. Review by Poss (Posted on 12/14/2017)
Good Corespinning and lockspinning infromation
Rating
I am on the fence between a 3 or 4 start on this one. On the one hand, it has some great corespinning tips as well as good information on spinning inclusions. There is very little on coils (as another reviewer notes) so don't expect anything but a brief overview. The video title is definitely a bit of a misnomer. Jacie Boggs Spin Art video has a bit more on these techniques if you are looking for that.

The video is also let down especially in the second half by bad camera/editing work. There are a number of occasions where the camera is focused on Ester's face instead of her hands and you are left guessing as to what is going on.

There is still some worthwhile information in here if you are interested in art yarn spinning and corespinning especially, but the name, editing, etc lets it down.

Not what I was hoping for
The video is quite heavy on core spinning and lock spinning. I was hoping for more information on coils. Look elsewhere if you wanted to learn about spinning beehives. Esther Rogers is a great teacher and I learned a few techniques I may use but I can't believe how often the camera didn't focus on her hands to show what she was doing or so you could see the detail of the yarn she made. Why is there a 30 day Money-Back Guarantee label on the listing for a video download if you don't offer a refund for downloaded products? Review by Derica (Posted on 7/29/2016)
