Santa Fe is New Mexico's capital city. It has eclectic mix of architecture that features neutral-colored adobe walls, but many homes and stores throughout the city have wooden doors painted brilliant turquoise blue or purple.

Finished Size: About 63" (160 cm) long x 24" (61 cm) wide.
Yarn: DK weight (#3 Light).
Specific Yarn Used: Wooly Wonka Fibers Nimue DK (50% silk, 50% merino wool; 230 yd/31?2 oz [100 g]): Spice (A), 4 skeins; Terracotta (B), 1 skein; Turquoise (C), 1 skein; Raven's Wings (D), 2 skeins; Heartsease (E), 1 skein.
Needles: Size U.S. 8 (5 mm) straight or 24" (60 cm) or longer circular (cir) needle. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Stitch markers (m); waste yarn or spare needle; tapestry needle.
Gauge: 19-1/2 sts and 29 rows = 4"(10 cm) over St stitch; 19-1/2 sts and 35 rows = 4" (10 cm) over chart.

Notes: Three stitches at each edge are worked in garter stitch to form a narrow border. These stitches are not shown on the chart. When working the charted slipped-stitch sections, be sure to carry the working yarn loosely to prevent puckering. When slipping stitches on right-side rows, slip each stitch purlwise with the yarn in back, and when slipping stitches on wrong-side rows, slip each stitch purlwise with the yarn in front. Right-side (odd-numbered) rows on the chart are read from right to left, and wrong-side (even-numbered) rows are read from left to right. When working the narrow stockinette stripes and the chart, carry the unused color loosely up the side of the work and twist the yarns when changing colors to catch the loose strand at the edge.
