Enjoy this collection all about lace! You get four issues of PieceWork magazine from 2008-2011.

PieceWork magazine’s annual lace issues celebrate the stories of lacemakers and lace projects inspired by historical lace knitting, crochet lace, bobbin lace, and even tatting.

MAY/JUNE 2008: Filet crochet a Laura Ingalls Wilder doily, learn step-by-step tatting, and much more in the first-ever annual issue devoted to lace! Learn the secrets for creating extraordinary lace from Russian lace scarves to lace fans to bridal purses.

MAY/JUNE 2009: Explore exquisite needlelace that originated in Bologna, Italy, with a step-by-step tutorial for making your own delicate needlelace insert; tat an elegant Chantilly Border; learn about a master bobbin-lacemaker; and delve into the world of Orenburg lace knitting, complete with instructions for knitting a sumptuous cashmere Orenburg warm shawl.

MAY/JUNE 2010: Use the project instructions in this lace issue to create a stunning Herbert Niebling–inspired knitted-lace purse, elegant socks with lacy cuffs to knit, a tatted lace motif, a knitted Orenburg scarf, and an exquisite Dresden lace gift bag to embroider. This issue is a lace lover’s dream!

MAY/JUNE 2011: The stories of lacemakers are as intriguing as their lace: Anna Marie Jensen “campaigned for knitting to be recognized as a lacemaking technique”; Dorothy Reade championed the use of charts and symbols in lace knitting; for countless Irishwomen, making lace meant the difference between starvation and survival during the Great Famine.
