exchanging yarn for this project
The yarn is a silk on size five needle, the alternatives for that are to carefully swatch some other yarns til the desired gauge is achieved. The use of maybe a spun silk may work or a viscose. There is always a solution. Don't give up just because it is suggesting an expensive yarn. This is a lovely sweater: a silk blend or an angora maybe? Review by christine paulino (Posted on 9/23/2011)
Oriel lace blouse eProject
My problem with this project is that the only yarn recommended is very expensive. The cost of the yarn alone- without taxes or shipping or driving to the store- is about $180. So, it would be a $200 project. In these times, don't you think that is a bit over the top for us? Can't you put some other yarn in that would be ok, too? I realize that the expensive yarn is the best, but the only option for most of us is to skip making the blouse. Review by Carolyn Wilson (Posted on 7/11/2011)
