Beautiful Bracelet
Don't try to do this bracelet from the printed instructions only. Watch the video, it's much clearer than the printed instructions. Before watching it, I tried FOUR time using just the printed instructions. I ripped it out FOUR times. It's very confusing. Then I remembered that I had the video, and had to watch it four times before I finally got it in my mind. Even then, I kept forgetting to pick up one of those blasted tiny demi beads before and after each triangle. I ripped out many times to redo, but I finally COMPLETED it last night. I've been beading for 2 years and have never had problems with a pattern before like I have had with this one. It's a beautiful bracelet, but a nightmare to follow. Love the bracelet, but......
This is the ******** pattern I have EVER tried to follow, and I have been beading for 25 years! I have ripped out the top of it 3 times and I am STILL confused! I've tried following just the illustrations and that was awful and I've tried following just the written instructions, and they are just as bad. If I had known at the time I ordered the pattern that I was going to have so much trouble with it, I would not have ordered it. Review by Beadfreak (Posted on 1/21/2017)
Very Cool Bracelet!
I made the Dahlia bracelet in the Soft Green colorways design. I love this design. At first I wasn't sure I could do this, I've only been bead weaving for about 3 years, and pretty much self taught. The instructions are easy to follow and appear to be without error. There is a lot of back & forth with the thread paths and it's easy to get lost, so pay close attention to steps 5-6-7. It will feel tedious at first but it goes fairly quickly after you get the hang of it. The instructions tell you to keep the accordion base 'loose' but I didn't like the feel of that when I started on the triangle top. I ended up taking off the triangles and reinforcing, pulling together my tile base before I continued on with the top. It turned out beautifully. I highly recommend this kit. (By the way, I only had 3 leftover olive triangles, no tiles left and no turquoise (top) tiles left at all. Very few demi or toho rounds left as well.)
