Everyone loves a wedding — especially a royal wedding, with a real-life prince and princess! Prince Harry married American actress Meghan Markle in St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle on May 19, 2018. To honor the occasion, Cristie Prince designed the Princess Meghan Bracelet.

Meghan Markle’s Style

Meghan Markle’s style is best described as classically sophisticated. Early in her career, she was more prone to wearing miniskirts and bandeau dresses. But since being linked with Prince Harry, Markle’s fashion sense has matured. These days, she’s most likely to don a tailored dress or polished separates from established Canadian or British designers.

Like her clothing wardrobe, Markle’s jewelry style is chic yet classic. She favors stud earrings and delicate necklaces. Her left hand is now reserved for her wedding rings; her gorgeous engagement ring incorporates side diamonds from the late Princess Diana’s jewelry collection. But she still sports multiple rings on her right hand, including trendy stacked styles.

Markle’s bracelet styles vary, from feminine chain to slim bangles to the occasional bold and chunky piece. She doesn’t seem to prefer white or yellow gold, wearing both — sometimes even together.

The Princess Meghan Bracelet

Cristie Prince’s Princess Meghan Bracelet is as sleek and stylish as the new princess*. The bracelet combines opulent cream rose pearls with sparkling Swarovski purple velvet crystal bicones and dark gold seed beads. The elegant design is suitable for any special occasion. [*Yes, we know that Meghan’s title is actually Duchess of Sussex, but we Yanks still consider her a “princess”!]

When I made my own Princess Meghan Bracelet, I found the pattern very easy to follow. The bracelet is stitched continuously, rather than in components. The only major issue I encountered with the construction is that I caught my thread on the previous sections a couple of times. (But I always do that! And luckily, I discovered the problem in time to fix it.)

I also discovered (late) that my tension was quite a bit tighter than Cristie’s. After I finished 14 components, I realized the bracelet would need 1 more component to fit my wrist. Fortunately, the kit includes extra materials. I was able to quickly add another component before attaching the clasp and working the embellishments.

My personal affinity for pearls probably plays a role, but I LOVE this bracelet. It’s easy to stitch, and it’s lovely to wear. The pearls and gold seed beads are timeless, and the purple crystals add a bit of regal sparkle. The bracelet is also very comfortable. Usually, bracelets end up on my desk by mid-day — but I wore this one all day long at work and to a school meeting later the same night.

Whether you’re an avid Anglophile or you’re completely clueless about the British monarchy, you’ll love the Princess Meghan Bracelet. It’s available now in a kit, including the pattern and all the materials you need to stitch up to an 8.5″ bracelet (pay attention to your thread tension!).

You’ll also receive Cristie’s popular eBook Bead Royale: Elegance in Beadweaving. This eBook includes 10 projects that are fit for any queen or princess. To learn more about the royal-inspired designs in this eBook, see “Bead Weaving: Be Queen for a Day with Cristie Prince’s Beaded Jewelry.”

Now that I think about it, Cristie’s Corona Necklace from the eBook would make a beautiful complement to the Princess Meghan Bracelet. I’d better get stitching! (As soon as I find my fascinator hat!)
