Description
Construct and build a show box-like structure that will frame the beautiful texture of mixed metals, color and harmony. Learn important considerations for designing jewelry around the metal clay shrinkage during firing. Then, put your skills to work as you craft a pendant that mixes coper and silver metal clays.
Required Materials:
- Art Clay Copper
- Art Clay Silver
- Art Clay Silver Syringe
- Olive oil
- thick neck wire
Tools:
- CLAY: acrylic or glass work surface, non stick surface (Teflon), thickness guides (1mm), acrylic roller tube (6mm outside diameter), round needle file (fine), pin tool round cutter (6mm outside diameter), straight edge cutter, steel spatula, textured surface REFINEMENT/FINISHING:
- REFINEMENT/FINISHING: sandpaper (320 grit), 3M sanding sponge (fine grit)
- FIRING: kiln fiber blanket, kiln gloves, tongs, stainless steel bowl (4 quart) half filled with water, kiln
- OTHER: index card, Sharpie marker, paint brush
