If you want to learn the stitches, then this is the book
I love this book. I purchased it when it was first published and again as an ebook. I work in a bead shop and when asked what is the best book to buy, this is one of three I recommend. I've not had a person come back and say that this book was not great. Review by Teresa (Posted on 12/19/2015)
Great Beginners book
This is my go to book when I need a refresher. The basics are given for a variety of stitches and they are very easy to follow. I have the hard copy and now I bought the eBook so I have it with me for a quick reference in classes and when traveling. Review by Georgette (Posted on 8/20/2015)
A lesson plan
This is a great book. I've bought a lot of beading books and magazines on beading this year to help me learn beading. I don't know anyone who beads and my health keeps me from getting out much. Mastering Beadwork is set out like a lesson plan with each project focusing on a different skill. I have worked my way through the book making everything in order. I feel much more confident now. Many thanks to the author! Review by Lou (Posted on 10/12/2014)
Must have reading for and beader's collection
Whether I'm looking for instructions on a particular stitch, thinking about colors or seeking inspiration for a new project, Mastering Beadwork ends up being my go to source. Review by justcallmetoni (Posted on 3/2/2014)
Great book overall just too few illustrations
The book is very comprehensive in the written instructions but not so with the illustrations. Each technique has it own chapter and starts with basic written instructions for each stitch but does not have a visual step by step diagram to go with the start of the new technique. Overall the book is very good as you progress into the projects and the format is well organized. Full of good tips and tricks I still recommend having it as a part of any beader's library. THE BEST!
This was among the first beadweaving books I purchased, and the one I chose to teach myself beadweaving. I have since collected many more books on this subject, but I still like this one best. The techniques are clearly explained in both step-by-step written instructions and in diagrams, and the lovely projects proceed from easiest to more challenging variations for each technique--very well organized.
