About the Host

Mary Beth Shaw uses stencils on anything and everything; if it will hold still, she will stencil it. Mary Beth's spontaneous process utilizes pastel, ink, marker and acrylics layered with various collage, texture and three-dimensional materials. Mary Beth is author of Flavor for Mixed Media and Stencil Girl, a columnist for Somerset Studio magazine and the owner of StencilGirl Products. Mary Beth lives in Wildwood, Missouri with her husband and three cats and is passionate about every moment of life.

About the Guest

Sue Pelletier is an artist, mother and teacher, not always in that order. She has taught elementary school art in Dover, Massachusetts for twenty-five years. The spontaneity and expression in children's art has always been an inspiration. Sue has a BA from Saint Michaels College in Vermont, where she majored in fine arts and elementary education and an MFA from the Pratt Institute in New York, where she majored in painting.

She has been published several times in Cloth Paper Scissors, as well as in Somerset Studio and various other Stampington magazines. Sue's artwork has been on four magazine covers. She also has two DVDs out with Interweave, featuring textural surfaces and innovative ways to use mediums in your art. Sue teaches online classes, and she teaches internationally with mixed-media events including Create and Art Is You, as well as smaller, more intimate venues in studios and shops around the country. She has also been a guest columnist for CreateMixedMedia.com.
