About the Web Seminar

There are multiple ways create cloth from yarn. Many people are familiar with either knitting or crochet, but have not yet discovered the joys of weaving. Stories of how difficult it is to set up the loom may have discouraged some people from even attempting. But using a rigid heddle loom makes weaving easy as well as portable.

Deborah has been a weaver for over 20 years and loves sharing her knowledge to help others get started. She will discuss which of your yarns are best for weaving, how to combine them for success, how to set up a loom and get started weaving. Showing knitters and crocheters how to weave has been her passion for many years.

If you have ever wondered how to add extra interest to your knitting or crochet skills, take this opportunity to see what you can do with weaving. In this seminar, you will learn how weaving can add a whole new dimension to your fiber skills.  Weave cloth from your yarn that can be embellished with your knitting or crochet. Learn about the characteristics of yarn to use for weaving and how that might differ from what makes interesting knitted or crocheted cloth. See how weaving can help you use up your stash of yarn to make wonderful cloth.

basic but useful for the very beginner weaver
I am a beginner weaver so I found the information useful but I was expecting more than one project. Review by Evelyn (Posted on 6/18/2014)
very basic instruction about rigid-heddle weaving
While the instructions were very clear and concise, the content was very basic. This is a program for someone who has little to no knowledge about using a rigid-heddle loom. I have woven several projects on this loom and was hoping for more. The instructor delivered the information well. I found the audio to be lacking even with the volume as high as it would go both on the video setting and my lap top. When I began weaving, my plan was, in fact, to use up my yarn stash. What I have now is a weaving yarn stash! Review by Annette (Posted on 6/10/2014)
