"I find that anything Jane Austen makes me happy. I enjoy the stories, the ups and downs, the romance, and the clothes. When thinking of what to design, the muff was an accessory that was interesting and a bit frivolous, too. Muffs of the Regency period were characteristically made from fur or silk and were quite large. I chose a chunky yarn and the leaf pattern to give the muff depth and texture. My goal was to create a beautiful and functional accessory. The piece is knitted in the round and uses several techniques. provisional cast-on, light lace pattern incorporating increases and decreases. without being difficult to create." - Karen Holmes
