A Word From the Author:

"A spinning wheel is a very subtle device. The more you know about it, the more you find there is to learn. But, conversely you don’t need to know a thing about it to be a good spinner." — Alden Amos

About the Authors:

Alden Amos has been building spinning wheels and other fiber tools for over 40 years. He enjoys sharing his often humorous knowledge about wheel mechanics, wheel construction and spinning history and traditions through informational video tutorials and his book, Alden Amos Big Book of Handspinning Information Advice and Opinion on the Noble Art & Craft.

Cindy Lair is the Production Manager for Schacht Spindle Company, Inc. in Boulder, Colorado. Schacht Spindle Company began as a small business out of a garage and is now one of the worlds leading makers of handweaving looms and spinning wheels. Cindy has worked with over 10,000 wheels during the past 23 years of her career, and enjoys sharing her tips and tricks for how to make and produce quality spinning wheels.
