knit.wear spring 2012

Make room in your closet for 25 essential pieces from knit.wear. Our Spring 2012 issue of this special publication is packed with simple, flattering knits you'll want to wear right now.

This issue brings new yarn reviews, a couture finishing tip about using covered snaps by Kathy Augustine, a short-row tutorial with Erica Patberg, and an in-depth look at color with Glenna C. Harris. Each of the projects in this issue of knit.wear bring the thoughtful knitter a unique garment with intriguing details.

in this issue of knit.wear:

  • Knit Minimal: projects that focus on simple garments using just one or two stitches, unexpected yarns, and surprising silhouettes.
  • With Dimension: projects featuring knitted fabric that breaks out of flat planes with twisting, turning, and folding stitches.
  • On Air: projects that explore multiple ways to construct knitted fabrics that drape and flow.
  • Ruche: projects with gathered and raised textures that embody the early nineteenth-century French translation "beehive."
  • Seamless: circular, coherent, connected, consistent, continual, gapless, intact, joined, jointless, linked, logical, ordered, smooth, unbroken, unending, unlined--these projects fit the definition.

Modern Classic
I love the patterns, so classic and so wearable. There are many that have been placed on my to do list, particularly in the seamless section. Review by Patricia (Posted on 10/21/2014)
Unique and exciting!
lots of unusual patterns in a great range of sizes, good variety of yarns, new stitches and techniques. helpful articles. Review by Shirley (Posted on 5/10/2014)
Works on my IPad and a great magazine
Love the patterns, already knitted one that looks and fits great, can't wait to try the others. I'm so glad the glitch was fixed and I can now read the magazine on my IPad, without it crashing. Review by cecilia (Posted on 4/13/2014)
Absolutely the best knitting magazine ever!
When this magazine debuted a couple of years ago, I was totally smitten and couldn't stop telling my knitting buddies about it. I always describe this magazine as "If Eileen Fisher had a knitting magazine, this would be it". I love the ease, simplicity, and wearability of design. Nothing fussy nor frilly. Everything is eminently knit able by all skill levels. Keep it coming. It is hard to find. I have succeeded in getting two of my favorite vendors to carry it, one a yarn shop and the other a bookshop. The former's owner tanks me every time ai come in.
PS... the patterns themselves rival those sold individually at much greater expense.

stopped finding adjectives for the title of this review because the issue's appeal grows as you go through it, so the adjectives keep coming. (i think, as the editors hoped?) unique, feels like it's talking to me. the next issue doesn't have to, because this issue tells me you are. Review by Anne Miyashiro (Posted on 6/5/2012)
