Description
Working in one piece from the top down, the designer uses a subtle waffle stitch to pattern this pullover. A high-buttoning neck, a carefully fitted raglan shoulder, and a lush alpaca yarn make a utilitarian stitch sweetly polished.
Finished Size: 34 ½ (36 ¼, 38 ¼, 40, 41 ¾, 44 ¼)” bust circumference. Sweater shown measures 34 ½”, modeled with about ½” positive ease.
Yarn: Plymouth Baby Alpaca DK (100% baby alpaca; 125 yd [114 m]/50 g): #2020 wine, 7 (7, 8, 8, 9, 10) balls.
Yarn weight: #3 – Light
Gauge: 22 sts and 32 rows = 4″ in St st; 22 sts and 38 rows = 4″ in waffle st patt.
Needles: Size 4 (3.5 mm): 16″ and 32″ circular (cir) and set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Markers (m; one in contrasting color to mark beg of rnd); waste yarn; tapestry needle, size C/2 (3 mm) crochet hook; seven 5/8″ buttons.
