Description
The Denys Vest was inspired by the colors of a sunset over the African plains; it uses solid and gradient yarns to achieve the transitional effect. This cropped vest is worked in the round from the bottom up and then divided at the armholes and worked at—no steeking required!

Yarn: Freia Fine Handpaints Ombré Sport (100% wool; 217 yd [198 m]/2½ oz [75 g]): whisper (pale blue/tan; MC), 1 (2, 2, 2, 2, 2) skein(s). Freia Fine Handpaints Semi-Solid Sport (100% wool; 145 yd [133 m]/1¾ oz [50 g]): rose madder (dark pink; CC1), 2 (2, 2, 2, 3, 3) skeins; diesel (blue-gray; CC2), 2 skeins.
Needles: Size 5 (3.75 mm): 16″ and 32″ circular (cir). Size 6 (4 mm): 32″ cir. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Marker (m); stitch holders; tapestry needle.
Gauge: 25 sts and 32 rnds = 4″ in Row 3 of Body chart patt on larger needle.
