A felted tote wtih purchased Jul handles, the Chianti Carry-All is worked in a solid main color with a handpaint at the top corners.
Finished Size: Before felting: 28″ wide at widest point and 19″ tall; base 13″ wide and 5″ deep; after felting: 21″ wide and 15″ tall; base 12″ wide and 4″ deep.
Yarn: Brown Sheep Company Lamb’s Pride Bulky (85% wool, 15% mohair; 125 yd [114 m]/113 g): #M-166 plum smoke (MC), 5 skeins; #M-28 chianti (CC1), 4 skeins; #VM-255 rosy velvet (CC2), 1 skein. Yarn Weight: #5 – Bulky
Needles: Size 17 (12 mm) 32″ circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Markers (m); stitch holder; tapestry needle; 12″ purse zipper; JUL Mountain Explorer bag handle; sewing needle; invisible thread; contrast color basting thread.
Gauge: 8 sts and 12 rows = 4″ (before felting) in St st using 2 strands held tog.
