Chart maven JC Briar walks you through the steps to deciphering and ultimately mastering knitting charts.

Join JC Briar on this 75-minute knitting workshop to learn how to confidently read simple to complex charts and create successful knitted projects!

You’ll knit with confidence as you learn:

  • Why knitting charts resemble knitted fabric
  • How chart symbols get their shapes
  • When to follow the key and when to use your own knowledge
  • How a chart can prevent mistakes (or help you identify them)
  • What the mysterious “no stitch” symbol really means

NOT for beginners...too much info on stitch maps, sorry
the production of this instructional video was very old school, one long lecture with very little demonstration -- and what demo there was went far to quickly. not a lot of detail and what was there was very rushed. lots of bouncing from charts to "stitch maps" -- i would have rather had the teaching stick with charts/charting rather than pitching a product not widely used :( and one that was so very different from the charting that was being covered. it took up time that could have been used to show MORE examples and give more details on what was being talked about. also would have been good to have just a sample or two and take them from beginning to end -- instructor assumed far too much and jumped from one to another without really making a point. if you purchase -- watch it a few times, there are worthwhile tidbits in there. normally when she teaches this in a classroom it is a THREE hour is 1hr/20min.

Not enough knitted visuals
I would have liked to have seen more hands on knitting, perhaps just one project from beginning to end. I really did enjoy her teaching method. She is 100% knowledgeable and she communicates very well. If I had known about her website I would have bought the dvd here. I spent over $25.00 on amazon. Review by KnitBee (Posted on 12/8/2016)
