About The Expert:
Karen Gibbs has been a longarm quilter, focused on freemotion quilting, for over 14 years. She teaches, designs and quilts her own line of patterns based on inspirations from her family, which consists of three kids, one dog, lots of quilters and a husband (her husband lists them in that order). Karen's quilting journey started when she worked as a sweater designer for a clothing manufacturer. Over time, she translated sweater design into many of her patterns, which feature Bargello. Karen’s book, Bits of Bargello, published by American Quilter’s Society, also features this technique. In 2013, Karen designed over 300 batiks and escorted a group of quilters on a Bali expedition tour.
