more than disappointed
I have the hardcover book and liked it enough that I just bought the electronic version. What a waste! Not only did they not bother to use bookmarks or links (in the table of contents or index, or text e.g. names of breeds, to photos or drawings) - they made it impossible for owners of the book to add them! And removed all the other features that make a .pdf useful. Review by acorn (Posted on 8/28/2015)
e-version somewhat disappointing
For years, I have periodically taken this excellent book out of the library to pore over the pictures and breed descriptions. This e-book is a faithful copy of those.
But I am disappointed that the pdf format used does not allow copying of either text excerpts or pictures. And I was further disappointed that in creating the pdf, no effort was made to use the power of the medium to make browsing and navigating easier. For example, there should be direct links from the chapter titles in the Contents to those chapters. A way to jump to the index from anywhere would have been good, too.
