Readers of Handwoven magazine often wonder about the process for submitting work for publication, and the questions they have--Is the process complicated? What kinds of projects is Handwoven looking for? Is my work good enough? Am I experienced enough?--may be stumbling blocks that prevent them from discovering the delight of having their work published. This web seminar will address those concerns and give weavers the information they need to submit their work with confidence.


Sarah will discuss what types of projects Handwoven is looking for and she will walk participants through the submission process. You'll learn how projects are selected to fit the editorial calendar, how color palettes are employed for some issues, what the submission timelines are, and what's involved in the editing process.

Each registration comes with access to the archived version of the event as well as any handouts referenced during the presentation. You do not have to attend the live event to get the recording of the presentation or the handouts. In all Weaving Today web seminars, no question goes unanswered. Attendees have the ability to chat with the instructor during the live event and ask questions. You will receive a copy of the web seminar presentation in an email that goes out one week after the live event. The answers to questions not covered in the live presentation will be included in this email as well.

About the instructor: Sarah attended the University of Kansas where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts, concentration in textile design. In addition to owning a weaving business, she has worked for a publishing company designing and writing pattern instruction for knitwear, home schooled her son, and volunteered as a Stephen minister in her church. She tries to weave every day, and feels blessed by her passion for weaving. When not weaving, she enjoys reading, gardening, and bike riding.

Sarah has had numerous designs published in Handwoven. In January, 2012, she joined the editorial team as a technical editor, and in January, 2015, she accepted the job of weaving editor.

This webinar is pretty clear. I changed my rating because of finally having the ability to hear it.

I hear that something in the web site will change. I just hope it's for the better because it's not easy to get around.

Digital Courses and Streaming Video

If you have purchased an on-demand courses or video you can access your product immediately by following the directions below. If you have purchased course with a start date you can still access it by following the directions below but may be limited to what you can access until the course starts at the date that was described in the details section of the product you purchased.
