downloadable charts, please
I LOVE this book, also. I would LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to have the charts be downloadable and printable in a larger size. I can't read the ones in the book at all. I tried scanning them and blowing them up, but since the print is so fine, it just doesn't work well. I'm probably going to have to ultimately transcribe all the charts which will take a lot of time. Not as I expected
I love the author and the designs in this book are stunning. But some of the publishing decisions greatly detract from the utility of this book. The charts have me pulling out my hair. Well the chart for the Pine Tree Palatine Scarf does, anyway. I haven't tried the others yet. The charts are large and complicated, as one would expect. However they are printed very small in the book, making them difficult see to knit from. The written instructions, especially those regarding turning the corners on the border, are clear and concise. However, the chart doesn't match those instructions. It took me three tries to decide where the "disconnect" was and what to do about it. I ultimately decided to ignore the last two rows of the written instructions and go with the chart instead, since I figured the final two corner turns would be based on the rows stated in the chart. We'll see if I guessed right in another 750 or so rows. :) Review by Drisanna (Posted on 5/23/2013)
