Really wanted to love this jacket, but...
Advance warning: I mean no disrespect to the designer of this very creative pattern. However, my goodness, so much work for such a terrible result. My knitting skills are about the advanced intermediate level. If something's not right, I generally can sort out how to compensate for it. Sadly, this was not the case here.

There's nothing too challenging here (but for the tedium of all those little stockinette pieces that have to be knitted - in duplicate - and seamed). If you're the kind of person who struggles to finish a second sleeve, avoid this pattern like plague.

First, what's not obvious from the photos is the jacket has an asymmetrical front; good to know if this sort of thing bugs you.

Second, the way the cuffs are worked, as separate pieces, they add too much weight to the sleeves. See below.

Third, the cuff situation makes the sleeves pull from their seams at the shoulder and armhole, pulling the stitchwork open and making it look weak (I used a crochet slip stitch, so they were very secure, but just didn't look so).

Fourth, the collar never came out to the correct proportional width based on the photos. The lapels aren't nearly as wide as depicted.

Fifth, the whole project just felt like a chore to me. Very tedious bits of applied icord were pretty much a slog for me. I don't mind some, but there was a lot on this garment, as it's around the cuffs, the entire sweater collar, front and bottom, plus down the princess seams. I couldn't help but feel that some of this could have been incorporated into the knitting process rather than all done after the fact. It made me wonder if all that icord wasn't an afterthought.

The sweater's in the donation pile. After all that work, the overall result when worn is truly terrible. Of all the 25+ sweaters I've made, this was the most work, and the most disappointing.

Your mileage may vary.
