Ghost Ranch was home of the artist Georgia O'Keeffe in the mountains of northern New Mexico. Nestled against redrock cliff walls, this area was known to the Spanish explorers as "shinning rock," and overlooks the waters of the Chama River as it flows southward. The ranch with its red and orange cliffs was the subject of many of O'Keeffe's paintings. The cattle skull marking the entrance to her property was also featured in several of her works and was the inspiration for the name of the ranch as well.

Gauge: 24 sts and 32 rows = 4" (10 cm) over St st and Waist Chart on larger needles after blocking.
NOTE: If your gauge is slightly different for the colorwork sections, try going up one needle size to ensure gauge matches.

Notes: Circular needles are used for the body to accommodate the large number of stitches. Work back and forth, do not join to work in rounds. The charts are worked back and forth for the body and front bands. Read the right-side (odd-numbered) rows from right to left and the wrong-side (even-numbered) rows from left to right. The chart for the armhole band is worked in the round. Read all chart rows from right to left. Slip the first stitch of each row to help create a smooth edge to pick up sts for the collar and bands. Left Front and Right Front refer to the vest as worn.
