This set contains four stakes for creating convex or concave bracelets with smooth or pointed flutes, four hammers that allow you to forge, form, and texture your jewelry in a variety of ways, and a holder to securely anchor your tools to your workbench! As an added bonus, enjoy the November issue of Lapidary Journal Jewelry Artist.

Fretz tools are some of the highest-quality tools on the market for metalsmiths. This exclusive set includes a beautiful fluted silver bangle project by Bill Fretz himself, plus many of the Fretz tools you'll need to make it. What differentiates the deluxe set from the basic set is you also receive a Flat Cuff Stake and Double Ended Insert Hammer. Once you learn to use these specially designed, superbly crafted tools, you'll be ready to create your own fluted designs with the forging, hammering, planishing, and fluting skills and tools you've just acquired! Enjoy this tool set at an incredible price, as it includes new, less expensive Fretz Maker hammers that still feature the exact same working ends as all Fretz hammers.

See what's inside the set:
Stake Holder
Mount this holder directly onto your workbench for a solid and secure setup. The holder reaches just beyond the edge of the workbench, and no further, for added stability.

Double Ended Insert Hammer
With nine plastic end inserts that mimic the shape of planishing, embossing, and raising hammers, the Insert Hammer can forge metal without stretching it or leaving marks.

Digital Magazine
Check out the latest issue for inspiration and detailed technique information that you can apply to your bracelet making, including a Fluted Bracelet project by Bill Fretz. Also in the issue, Lexi Erickson shows you how to set the exciting new purple Manakarra chalcedony in a lovely pendant using the gem's natural surface as a focal part of the design. Other projects include Arlene Mornick's metal clay bracelet that teaches you how to set stones in six different ways, Roger Halas's prong set trilobite pendant and Eugenia Chan's riveted lapis pendant. In "Cool Tools & Hip Tips," Helen Driggs shows you some of the best ways to store your jewelry-making tools and supplies. And see why Michael David Sturlin considers the bench pin absolutely essential in the 35 tips for using it to best advantage.

Flat Cuff Stake
Forge and texturize bangles and cuffs with this stake, which features a nearly flat surface that helps prevent the creation of unwanted curvature.

  • 2 1/16" or 52mm long

40mm Convex Cuff Stake
This cuff stake can be used to form a convex cuff bracelet out of tubes that are two inches in diameter or wider. Metal stock with a thickness of up to 1 1/2 inches can be used with this stake.

  • 1 7/16" or 36mm long

20mm First Fluting Stake
Start adding soft-fluted texture to your bracelet designs with this stake. Its slightly rounded peak will ensure that the inside of your piece won't be marred. Then use the Finishing Fluting Stake to create more dramatic flutes.

  • 1 7/16" or 36mm long

20mm Finishing Fluting Stake
After you've begun your flutes with the First Fluting Stake, make them sharper with the Finishing Fluting Stake. Both can be mounted in multiple directions from flutes with different orientations.

  • 1 7/16" or 36mm long

Planishing Hammer
The planishing hammer is a classic tool that will give your pieces a timeless look. One end is slightly rounded to create subtle round planishing marks, and the other end is flat to smooth out those marks and achieve a more refined effect.

  • Made with a stainless steel head and an American ash handle.

Wide Raising Hammer
This raising hammer has a wide head for creating convex pieces with a large curve. It is also ideal for forging and lengthening sheet metal.

  • Made with a stainless steel head and an American ash handle.

Narrow Raising Hammer
The Narrow Raising Hammer is a crosspein hammer that can fit into places a planishing or wider raising hammer cannot. You can also use it to create a striking texture on concave and convex metal jewelry pieces.

  • Made with a stainless steel head and an American ash handle.
