Description
Inspired by fisherman’s ganseys, these mitts are both utilitarian and
luxurious.
Finished Size: 9″ circumference at bottom, 6½ ” circumference at top, and 14″ long.
Yarn: The Fibre Company Canopy Worsted (50% alpaca, 30% merino, 20% bamboo; 100 yd [91
m]/50 g): sumac (red-violet), 2 skeins (see Notes). Yarn distributed by
Kelbourne Woolens.
Yarn Weight: #3 – Light
Needles: Sizes 6 (4 mm) and 5 (3.75 mm): set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size
if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Markers (m); stitch holder; tapestry needle.
Gauge: 19 sts and 30 rnds = 4″ in tree of life patt on larger needles.
