The designer uses a mohair blend to subdue but not eclipse the simple zigzagging eyelet pattern of this hat. Used doubled throughout, a mohair halo gently fills the eyelets and makes the plain sections luxuriously dense.

Finished Size: 17 ½ (20)” head circumference. Hat shown measures 20″.
Yarn: GGH Soft Kid (70% kid mohair, 25% nylon, 5% wool; 150 yd [137 m]/25 g): #075 orange, 1 (2) ball(s). Yarn distributed by Muench Yarns.
Yarn weight: #4 – Medium
Gauge: 16 sts and 24 rows = 4″ in zigzag eyelet rib on larger needle with yarn doubled.
Needles: Size 8 (5 mm): 16″ circular (cir). Size 9 (5.5 mm): 16″ cir and set of 4 or 5 double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Marker (m); tapestry needle.
