Weather the storm with this motif afghan. Made by joining octagonal and square motifs, this gorgeous afghan uses swirling ridges to create a tornado effect. 100&#37 wool yarn also keeps the blanket warm for even the coldest of nights.

Finished Size: 45″ square.
Yarn: Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash (100% superwash wool; 220 yd [200 m]/3½ oz [100 g]; ): #1913 jet (MC), 16 balls; #816 gray (A) 2 balls; #844 periwinkle (B); 1 ball, #871 white (C), 1 ball.
Hook: Size I/9 (5.5 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions: St marker (m); yarn needle.
Gauge: Rnds 1-6 of octagon = 5″ diameter; whole octagon = 11½ ” diameter.
