The Winter Winds Hat is worked using a handful of different techniques, including twined knitting, stranded knitting, and an “eye of partridge” pattern usually reserved for sock heels. The hat is worked using both ends from the same skein, resulting in a dense fabric that is ideal for keeping your head warm.

Specific Yarn Used Mountain Colors Twizzle (85% Merino wool, 15% silk; 240 yd 219 m/3½ oz 100 g): Bobcat (gold) or Harmony Dove (blue-green), 1 skein (see Notes).
Needles Size 4 (3.5 mm): 16″ circular (cir). Size 6 (4 mm): 16″ cir and set of double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions Markers (m); tapestry needle.
Gauge 24 sts and 28 rnds = 4″ in twined knitting on larger needle.
