Description

Venture into the woods in this hat with cables reminiscent of pine trees. Front post double treble stitches create this unique stitch pattern that’s perfect for winter.

Difficulty: Intermediate

Finished Size: About 18¾ (20½ , 22½ )” in circumference; about 9¼ (10, 10)” tall, including band.

Specific Yarn Used: HiKoo Simpliworsted (distributed by Skacel) (55% merino superwash, 28% acrylic, 17% nylon); 140 yd [128 m]/3½ oz[100 g]; #050 forestry, 2 hanks.

Hook: Sizes F/5 (3.75 mm) and G/6 (4 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.

Notions: St markers (m), 1 contrasting color, 3 (4, 4) same color; yarn needle.

Gauge: 5 hdc = 1¼ ” and 12 rows = 4″ in ribbing patt, using smaller hook. 12 sts = 3½ ” and 9 rnds = 3″ in body patt, using larger hook.

    Love the hat, finding the pattern very hard to follow. The stitches don’t seem to be lining up properly if I follow exactly. Have had to rework many times.
