Description

The designer has used short rows to shape these delightful hats. Each triangular short-row segment is worked with a different color to create bright wide bands reminiscent of beach balls or circus tents.

Finished Size: About 23 ¼” (59 cm) circumference.
Yarn: Tahki Donegal Tweed (100% wool; 183 yd [167 m]/100 g): #874 burgundy, #845 purple, and #897 gold, 1 skein each. One skein is enough to make a solid-color hat.
Yarn weight: #4 – Medium
Gauge: 9 sts and 12 rows = 2″ (5 cm) in St st.
Needles: Size 8 (5 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Waste yarn for provisional cast-on; spare needle for grafting; tapestry needle.
