Description

The designer lets this tunic grow naturally out of a Japanese stitch pattern of leaves and flowers. After working the lower body from side to side, the upper body and sleeves are worked as one piece to the shoulders. A luxurious silk-and-seaweed blend highlights the openwork and gives the fabric depth.

Finished Size: 33 ¼ (37, 40 ¾, 44 ½, 49 ¼, 53, 56 ¾)” bust circumference. Tunic shown measures 37″; modeled with about 5″ positive ease.
Yarn: Tilli Tomas Fil de la Mer (70% silk, 30% SeaCell; 140 yd [128 m]/50 g): #249 parchment, 8 (8, 9, 9, 11, 12, 12) skeins.
Yarn weight: #3 – Light
Gauge: 21 sts and 28 rows = 4″ in lace patt, after blocking.
Needles: Size 7 (4.5 mm): 24″ to 40″ circular (cir), depending on selected size, and one spare needle. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Cable needle (cn); markers (m); waste yarn for provisional CO; stitch holders; tapestry needle.
