Description

Vasantasri is a feminine Sanskrit name meaning “the beauty of spring.” Inspired by an actual mehndi (henna tattoo) design, this necklace features a medallion center composed of stemmed picots surrounded by a layer of shell-stitch petals.

Finished Size: 16 (18)” princess choker after blocking; medallion about 21/4″ diameter after blocking.
Yarn: Lizbeth Size 20 Thread (distributed by Handy Hands) (100% Egyptian cotton; 210 yd [192 m]/3/4 oz [25 g]; ): #607 charcoal med (MC), #646 purple iris lt (CC); 1 ball each.
Hook: Size 10 (1.25 mm) steel hook. Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions: Magnetic barrel clasp; st marker (m).
Gauge: Rnds 1–4 of medallion = about 13/4″ after blocking.
