Yarn: Cascade Yarns Fixation (98.3% cotton, 1.7% spandex; 100 yd [91.4 m]/13/4 oz [50 g]; ): #2501 Turkish Sea (MC), 2 (3, 3, 3, 4, 4) balls; #7625 fawn (CC), 2 (2, 2, 3, 3, 3) balls.
Hook: Size E/4 (3.5 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary, to obtain correct gauge.
Notion: Removable stitch markers (m); yarn needle; sewing pins; 5⁄8″ diameter buttons, 12 (13, 14, 15, 16, 17) (sample used LaMode brand #60147), crochet hook small enough to fit through shank of button.
Gauge: 24 sts and 18 rows = 4″ in hdc.
