Description

Create this beautiful and colorful necklace featuring a turquoise pendant.

Skills: Basic metalwork, Wirework and Soldering

Materials Needed to Complete this Project:

  • Ornamental stone with channel
  • 4” 16g sterling silver wire, dead soft
  • 1×2” 18g sterling silver sheet
  • 4 5mm sterling silver 19g jump rings
  • 2 4mm sterling silver 19g jump rings
  • 2 3mm sterling silver 19g jump rings

    Tools Needed to Complete this Project:

    Forming:

  • Fine tweezers, metal files (rectangle and round)
  • Leather mallet, bench block, heavy duty wire cutters, flush side cutters
  • Bench shear or jeweler’s saw, disk cutter, 400 sand paper, 150 sand paper

    Soldering:

  • Butan torch, tripod with mesh, fire tweezers (cross-locking are best)
  • Soldering board of choice, solder pallions (hard, medium), solder paste (easy)
  • Flux and pickle

    Finishing:

  • Rotary tool, steel wool and liver of sulfur
