Norah Gaughan builds her Tilted Duster in pieces for movement and drape.

Description

Norah Gaughan builds her architectural Tilted Duster in pieces for movement and drape: The jacket’s bias-knit fronts, straight back, and bias-ribbed lower skirt come together like the pieces of a puzzle. Deep gores at the skirt sides create a flattering swing coat silhouette.

Finished Size: 32 (36, 40-½, 44, 48)” bust circumference. Sweater shown measures 36″.
Yarn: Berroco Peruvia (100% wool; 174 yd [159 m]/100 g): #7140 purpura (purple), 6 (7, 8, 8, 9) balls
Yarn weight: #4 – Medium
Gauge: 17 sts and 21 rows = 4″ in St st.
Needles: Upper body and sleeves-size 10 (6 mm): straight. Skirt and collar-size 10 (6 mm): 32″ circular (cir). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions: Tapestry needle; removable markers or scrap yarn; markers (m); four 1-¼” buttons (2 each for outside and inside of cardigan)
