Description

Everyone, particularly anyone who works with jewelry, has a collection of oddball broken bits too good (or sentimentally fraught) to throw away, but too problematic or expensive to fix. So these items sit there, silently accusing you of indifference, year after year.

Join Terri Haag for her web seminar that addresses the right way, the wrong way, and the quick and dirty way to restore or resurrect orphan earrings and other broken jewelry bits for fun and for profit. In this web seminar Terri will going to show you how to quickly and cheaply turn those bits into wearable pieces, using a little epoxy putty, some nail polish, and a lot of ingenuity.

Warning: as the name implies, this web seminar is not about proper jewelry-repairing techniques. It is certainly not for professional jewelers. This is for people with little money and less time, but a lot of imagination. If you have a second hand shop, an Etsy or Ebay store, or just a lot of accumulated bits and pieces you’d like to bring back to life, this is for you!

In this web seminar you’ll learn:

  • Tips for turning single earrings into pendants, pins, or two matching earrings again.
  • How to use epoxy putty and glue instead of solder for joins.
  • Techniques for fixing small-gauge chain with eyewire and crimp beads.
  • Ways to create faux sets using putty and nail polish.
  • And so much more!

Disclaimer: Old and broken jewelry is, by definition, old and broken. Since Terri don’t know what you have or what condition the items are in, she is not responsible for additional breakage or other damage if a technique she recommends goes badly in your specific case. All the techniques Terri suggest have been tested and have worked well in the past for a wide variety of objects so she trusts they will do the same for your components.
