Description
Four different crochet cable-stitch patterns cavort across the surface of this traditional crochet cardigan with bottom-up construction. Use bpdc and fpdc to create crochet cables on the front, back and even the sleeves of this men’s crochet sweater.
Finished Size: 35 ½ (39 ½ , 43 ½ , 47 ½ , 51 ½ )" chest circumference, buttoned. Garment shown measures 43 ½ ", modeled with 7" ease.
Yarn: Cascade Yarns 220 Superwash (100% washable wool; 220 yd [200 m]/3 ½ oz [100 g]; ): #816 grey, 14 (15, 16, 17, 18) balls.
Hook: Sizes F/5 (3.75 mm) and E/4 (3.5 mm). Adjust the hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions: Five 23mm buttons; st markers (m); seaming pins.
Gauge: 20 sts and 15 rows = 4" in alternating hdc, dc rows with larger hook; braid = 1 ½ " wide; basket weave = 2 ¾ " wide; Celtic plait = 5 ½ " wide; all worked with larger hook.
