Switcheroo Socks Knitting Pattern Download

Description

These socks help diffuse the potential pooling of handpainted yarn by breaking up the colors with double rows of eyelets. The scalloped edging and unusual heel stitch pattern add a touch of extra flair. The first swatch used the other side of the eyelet rib pattern as the right side, but the inside was so attractive that it deserved to be on the outside! Thus the Switcheroo Socks were born.

Finished Size: About 5X (6V, 7V, 8V)” (14.5 [16.5, 19, 21.5] cm) foot circumference and about 7 (8V, 9V, 10V)” (18 [21.5, 25.5, 26.5] cm) foot length from back of heel to tip of toe (unstretched).
Yarn: Fingering weight (Super Fine #1). Shown here: Black Bunny Fibers Superwash Merino Sock (100% superwash wool; 400 yd [366 m]/100 g): Nana’s Lilacs, 1 skein
Needles: U.S. size 3 (3.25 mm): set of 4 double-pointed (dpn). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Marker (m); tapestry needle.
Gauge: 15 stitches and 24 rounds = 2″ (5 cm) in stockinette stitch worked in the round.
