Description

Inspired by the shawls of the Faroe Islands, this colorful shawl stays put on your shoulders with its V-shaped top edge. Sock-weight yarn and a large hook allow for terrific drape. The rich shell stitching of the shawl body is punctuated with a ruffled shell edging.

Finished Size: About 52″ wide across top edge and 28″ long from top to bottom at center.

Yarn: Lorna’s Laces Shepherd Sock (80% superwash wool, 20% nylon; 215 yd [197 m]/2 oz [57 g]): #610 zombie bbq, 8 hanks.
Yarn Weight: #2 – Fine
Hook: Sized H/8 (5 mm) and G/6 (4.25 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions: Yarn needle.
Gauge: 7 reps (22 sts including 1 dc) = 4 ½” and 11 rows (including set-up dc row) = 4″ in fb-sh patt with larger hook, blocked.
