Wearing a boa can be so much fun. I used to have a lovely ostrich-feather boa with short downy feathers at the base and luscious long feathers blooming out of the down. I wanted to re-create the look and feel of a feather boa in crochet, with multiple textures for optimal fullness. The super-bulky, textured yarn used in this scarf is perfect because the fur stitch and chain stitches are loose, allowing the yarn’s texture to really pop, while the wool base creates a wonderful warmth.

Finished Size: 4″ in diameter x 67″ long (10 cm x 170.5 cm).

Yarn: Tahki, Loop-d-Loop Fern (70% wool,30% nylon; 81 yd [73 m]/1.75 oz [50 g]): #002 grey-green, 5 balls.

Yarn weight: #5 Bulky

Hook: Q/19 (15mm) or size needed to obtain gauge.
