This bright galactic-inspired necklace is a convertible piece that can be worn in a multitude of ways. Using the Kumihimo technique and simple wire working, you can create a three-dimensional, versatile masterpiece.

  • 20 g hot pink galvanized size 8° Japanese seed beads
  • 7 g cobalt rainbow opaque size 8° Japanese seed beads
  • 138 metallic ultra-violet 4 x 2mm Teacup beads
  • 138 russett orange 4 x 2mm Teacup beads
  • 138 gold satin hyacinth 4x2mm Teacup beads
  • 138 nebula blue 4 x 2mm Teacup beads
  • 1 pink/gold/blue 34mm square pressed-glass shank button
  • 4 antiqued copper 5 x 12mm crimp ends (inside diameter 3mm)
  • 4 antiqued copper 7mm magnetic clasps
  • 4 antiqued copper 6mm oval jump rings
  • Pink Superlon medium-weight Tex 210 beading cord
  • 24” of brown 20-guage craft wire
  • Instaneedle cord stiffener
  • Superglue gel
  • Two-part epoxy glue

Tools:

  • Scissors
  • Kumihimo weight (25 – 50 grams)
  • 6” round kumihimo disk
  • Kumihimo Traveller stand (optional)
  • Big-eye needle
  • 8 kumihimo bobbins
  • Toothpicks
  • Empty seed bead tube or ½” dowel rod
  • 2 pairs of chain or flat-nose pliers
  • Wire cutters
