Description

This mock turtleneck sweater is worked side to side in a lofty brioche stitch that combines yarnovers and slipped stitches to knit up thick and fast. The sweater is worked from the left sleeve cuff to the right, and the ribbed border at the bottom of the sweater is added after the body is completed. No need to block the soft-spun merino wool; the oversize stitches knit easily into shape, so this warm casual classic will be finished in no time.

Finished Size: 42 (44, 46)” (106.5 [112, 117] cm) chest/bust circumference. Sweater shown measures 44″ (112 cm).
Yarn: Crystal Palace Iceland (100% merino, 109 yd [100 m]/100 g): #6320 leaf, 7 (8, 9) balls.
Yarn weight: #6 – Super Bulky
Gauge: 9 sts and 24 rows = 4″ (10 cm) in brioche st on larger needles; to check row gauge, measure straight up along a single column of knit sts on the RS and count each st in the column as 2 rows.
Needles: Sizes 11 and 13 (8 mm and 9 mm). Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
