Description

The nubby texture, reversibility, and non-curling nature of seed stitch make it perfect for simple scarves such as this one. When this almost magical stitch is worked over an odd number of stitches, every row is the same! This scarf uses two colors of yarn—two rows are worked in one color, then two rows are worked in the second color. The two yarns can form a subtle or pronounced striping effect, depending on the colors chosen.

Finished Size: 7¾ ” (19.5 cm) wide and 71″ (180.5 cm) long.
Specific Yarn Used:Cascade Yarns 128 Superwash (100% wool; 128 yd [117 m]/3½ oz [100 g]): #821 Daffodil (dark yellow; A) and #1984 Lemon Drop (light yellow; B), 2 skeins each.
Needles: Size U.S. 11 (8 mm) needles. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Yarn needle.
Gauge: 15 stitches and 25 rows = 4″ (10 cm) in seed stitch.
Notes:

• Carry unused color up along same edge of scarf. When changing color, consistently place old color toward the wrong side of the piece and pick up new color in front of old color to create a nice edge.
