Description

Carol Ginsberg Brown exploits the sculptural and textural properties of crochet, while making these seamless socks stretchy, with toes and heels worked with short rows.

Finished Size: U.S. women’s shoe size 7-9.

Yarn: Regia 4-ply Silk Solid (55% new merino wool, 20% silk, 25% polyamide; 218 yd [200 m]/1¾ oz [50 g]; ): #032 burgundy (MC), 2 skeins; #054 smoke (CC), 1 skein.

Yarn Weight: #1 – Super Fine

Gauge: 4 rep (28 sts including ch) and 16 rows = 4″ in rib-fan patt with smaller hook; 26 sts and 32 rows = 4″ in sc with larger hook.

Hook: Sizes C/2 (2.5 mm) and D/3 (3 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.

Notions: 8 locking stitch markers (m) or coil-less safety pins; yarn needle; optional nylon reinforcing thread.
