A gentle shell pattern shapes the yoke of this fetching sleeveless top.

Description

A gentle shell pattern shapes the yoke of this fetching sleeveless top. Ribbing that alternates between double crochet and half double crochet creates a body with negative ease that stretches up to two inches greater than the final measurement. Two identical pieces crocheted from side to side are joined on the final row of work.

Finished Size: 32 1/2 (35 1/2, 39, 42 1/2, 45 1/2)” bust circumference. Garment shown measures 33 3/4″, modeled with 1 1/2″ negative ease.
Yarn: Madelinetosh Tosh Vintage (100% superwash merino; 200 yd [182 m]/1 3/4 oz [100 g]; 4): byzantine, 5 (5, 6, 6, 7) skeins.
Hook: Size J/10 (6 mm). Adjust hook size if necessary to obtain correct gauge.
Notions: Yarn needle.
Gauge: 16 sts and 10 rows = 4″ in rib patt; 16 sts and 12 rows = 4″ in hdc rib; 16 sts and 8 rows = 4″ in shell patt.
